Kingsmen Software continues to add outstanding talent to the top of its roster as the company’s growth surges. Chief Agility Officer Kelley Horton will lead Kingsmen Business Agility™, a leadership advisory service that enables business and technology leaders to make sustainable operating model improvements that are tailored to their organization.
Horton has built an extraordinary reputation as an executive and enterprise-level Lean-Agile transformation leader in Charlotte. Most recently, as VP of Enterprise Engagements and Senior Consultant at Net Objectives, Horton was a member of a venerable team delivering assessments, consulting and coaching to global companies managing large-scale technological change.
While there are multiple industries in Horton’s experience (including Manufacturing, Healthcare, CRM, IT Service and a wealth of Silicon Valley start-up experience), her results as Chief Operating Officer for Bank of America’s Consumer Sales & Marketing Technology (CSMT) division closely matched Kingsmen’s need to offer more high level Lean-Agile consulting to executive clients. At BAC, Kelley led the transformation to a lean-based operating model in a short 9 months, leading to her appointment as COO of CSMT and Senior VP. Subsequently, this model became the reference model for the bank. She was recruited to the BAC Lean Transformation Team and made significant impacts in BAC’s financial management, portfolio management and strategy implementation.
As VP of Enterprise Program Management at Premier, Inc, a $1B healthcare alliance, Horton’s spearheading of the company’s transition from waterfall to Lean-Agile led to the key results of a 33% increase in new product deployments; a 35% reduction in first-year maintenance releases, simplifying the forecasting process and finally, enabling management to make fact-based strategic decisions regarding project priorities and funding.
“We’ve recognized that our clients need more in the way of executive coaching for Lean-Agile transformation. As we provide SDaaS as well as training on the team level, clients have been asking for help with the behavioral change needed at the leadership level to truly change their culture.” says Micah Minarik, CEO and Co-founder of Kingsmen. “There is no one better in the industry than Kelley Horton for guiding organizations through this. Our large enterprise clients will benefit from her leadership during their transformations, and having Kelley lead our Kingsmen Business Agility™ solidifies Kingsmen’s position as the full service shop for agile software delivery.”
Horton says, “I’m energized to work for Kingsmen; they’re true practicioners of their craft, able to not only create powerful software but to advise on what the company lives and breathes daily.” Her focus as CAO and Head of Kingsmen Business Agility™ is to help clients’ management adapt to agile transformation through deeper understanding of lean leadership and business agility principles. She adds, “The goal is to help Kingsmen’s client executives drive meaningful solution delivery through their organizations and create a continuous flow of customer value.”
Horton is a SAFe Agile Program Consultant (SPC4) and holds a BT in Industrial Engineering Technology from State University of New York Polytechnic Institute. She has written in several publications and speaks at regional conferences like Southern Fried Agile.
